CONCUSSION TESTING
A Step a Head Concussion Program Starts 2nd Year! Through Athletico, NorthShore University HealthSystem, AHAI, and the Chicago Blackhawks, A Step aHead is once again excited to announce that we will be offering FREE baseline ImPACT testing to AHAI hockey players, 13-18 years of age. Each test takes about 30 minutes to complete, and is done on-line at one of 24 Athletico clinics. To learn more about the ImPACT test, visit www.impacttest.com - Cognitive testing is not meant to keep athletes out longer. In fact, it often allows athletes to get back sooner and safer! - If an athlete sustains a concussion, they can see any physician of their choosing, and the baseline results will be sent to that MD free of charge. Post injury tests are not a part of the A Step aHead program. - The results of the ImPACT test are good for two years. Therefore, if your child took a baseline last year, there is no need to take the baseline again this year. - Go to www.athletico.com/impact now to register for testing or to learn more about the A Step aHead program. Cobras High School Hockey
Welcome to the Cobras High School Hockey Club website.
The Cobras provide the students of six Southwest Suburban Chicago area schools (Shepard, Stagg, Oak Lawn, Richards, Thornton Fractional South and Evergreen Park High Schools) the opportunity to compete against some of the best high school hockey organizations AHAI has to offer at both the Varsity and Junior Varsity levels.
The Cobras have been in existence since 1997. The Seasons Past page offers a complete recap of the Club's achievements since its inception.
The Club's goal is to produce fine young men or women ready to pursue their lives with an air of confidence and a positive mindset, gained through their participation in this greatest of sports.
The two link pages are separated into hockey related sites. Hockey Links and Maps will take you to the sites of leagues that we participate in, the State and National organizations, and where you can obtain maps and directions to the various rinks we will play at.
The Educational Help and Self Help page will give you options and information about college eligibility, paying for college, test preparation help and other helpful places where you and your player can identify areas where assistance can be provided. Other relevant links will be added as we go along.
